Sprachcaffe Havana – Spanish School
Description
Havana is the economic, cultural and political center
of Cuba. The city has the greater cultural inheritance
of Cuba and is the most wonderful colonial Spanish complex
in America. Havana offers beautiful beaches in both sides
of the downtown, the "West Beaches" are near
the School’s Club Residence, and the "East
Beaches" to the east of the city. The school is equipped
with luminous classrooms, video rooms, access to the Internet,
bar, etc.
Lodging
The students will be lodged in a building with single
or double rooms (all with private bathroom), air conditioning
and television. The Club Residence is located in the beautiful
area of Miramar, near the Almendares River. Miramar is
the coastal district of Havana with the great hotels,
international embassies, companies and a splendorous nightlife.
The Almendares River divides the districts of Miranda
and Vedado.
Academics
The key for a quick, progressive and lasting effect of
the learning is the conversation. From the beginning,
all the efforts of the Sprachcaffe
Havana - Spanish School’s professors are directed
to cause a fluid and vital exchange so that each new detail
learned finds an immediate practical application and helps
to improve the vocabulary. It is obvious that in class
groups with so demanding goals, must be guaranteed that
each student receives help from the teacher. This is the
reason why the groups does not exceed the 8 students.
The courses options include: holiday course: (2 daily
lessons of 45 min. each, 5 days per week), standard course
(4 daily lessons of 45 min. each, 5 days per week), intensive
course: (6 daily lessons of 45 min. each, 5 days per week)
and, finally, one to one courses of 2, 4 or 6 daily hours.
Activities
There is not an entertainment plan to which the students
must integrate, but they can always count with all the
information about every place they want to visit, and
create their personal activities program. Nevertheless
our programs are a permanent challenge to their desires
to learn and experiment. Many of the program issues are
not subject to a scheme continuously reiterated but they
often arise spontaneously, suggested by the students from
subjects treated in the classes. Some of these activities
include trips and visits to places of cultural interest
or going to the cinema. There are also optional salsa
and diving courses.
