Lodging in Cuba:
among the lodging possibilities in Cuba, the alternatives
are hotel, houses that rent rooms legally, and
many others that do it illegally.
Hotel: the Cuban
authorities demand a hotel voucher before the
arrival to the island. This can be arranged with
the travel agency with a voucher that will not
be used, or using a voucher for a couple of days
in a hotel, and then making the transfer. Otherwise,
the address of a legal private lodging it could
serve as well.
Particular houses:
there is a lodging network in the island that
allows the visitor to lodge in private houses.
These places pay a monthly canon to the State
for the lodge license and are usually well prepared
(in the door, there’s a triangular shaped
symbol, blue or red: if it’s blue, the bill
is in dollars, if it’s red, in local currency).
