Description
Over the hill, that since the end of the 19th century
the Havana people called "Arostegui" or “Pyrotechnics
Hill" is where the universities were transferred
the 20 of May of 1902. Fist, it was the "Royal and
Pontifical University of San Gerónimo", later
the “Royal University and Literary University of
Havana" and now, the "National University".
There, with the romantic view of the sea, with the green
of the laurels that populated the hill, and the slow moving
of classrooms, labs and heavy lecterns, it was shaping
its own profile the University of Havana, conserving for
history and tradition its more than 275 years of existence.
Lodging
The University of Havana has an University Residence for
foreigners.
Academics
The courses begin the first Monday of every month. The
classes take place from Monday through Friday in the morning.
The study levels are four: elementary, intermediate, advanced
and improvement.
Activities
The school organizes three visits to interest places:
museums, the beach and National Botanical Garden or another
option. There’s also a course of Cuban Culture:
Literature, painting, dance, cinema, architecture and
religion in Cuba.
